CROP GUIDE · EDUCATION

Start with a clean, well-drained growing medium.

Soil and nutrient considerations

A growing medium needs both air space and moisture retention. Use mature compost and avoid waterlogging.

Key nutrient decisions

Container volume, plant species and propagation stage change the nutrient requirement. Field-crop quantities cannot be scaled down blindly to a tray or pot.

Important growth stages

Propagation → rooting → hardening → transplanting

Where organic matter fits

Use well-decomposed compost as part of a suitable growing medium. The medium must retain moisture while allowing drainage and aeration.

Biological inputs: choose by function

Use root-dip or medium application only where the selected microbial pack permits it. Check compatibility with nursery disinfectants and other treatments.

A practical point to remember

Ask about the plant species, container size and medium before selecting inputs.

Application and precautions

Use the current pack directions for dose, method, crop compatibility and expiry. Share a photograph of the label for individual guidance. A crop name alone does not establish a suitable dose.

Keep sealed in a cool, shaded place. Check the batch and expiry before use. Do not mix microbial products directly with pesticides, disinfectants or concentrated fertilizers unless the label permits it.

What to share for individual advice

Your crop variety, acreage or tree count, crop age, soil test, irrigation method, recent fertilizers and delivery location. These details are more useful than a crop name alone.

Common questions

Is manure alone a complete nursery medium?

No. Choose a balanced medium with appropriate physical properties for the plant and container; avoid assuming one material meets every need.

Can I stop other fertilizers after using microbes?

Do not make that change automatically. Discuss a soil-test-based nutrient plan with a local agricultural adviser.
